Bill Skarsgård has amassed an impressive resume of diverse roles and continues to fearlessly evolve his body of work.
Skarsgård can currently be seen in Robert Eggers’ NOSFERATU, which follows a haunting relationship between a tormented young woman and the chilling vampire consumed by his infatuation, unleashing unfathomable terror in its wake. Skarsgård’s performance has received widespread acclaim, with critics calling his turn as Count Orlok “the greatest achievement of NOSFERATU” and a “remarkable transformation.” NOSFERATU has already surpassed box office expectations, entering the top 10 highest-grossing horror films of 2024 following its Christmas Day release.
Additionally, he will next star alongside Anthony Hopkins in LOCKED. The film follows a thief who breaks into a luxury SUV, only to realize that he has slipped into a sophisticated and deadly trap. The film is currently set for a March 21, 2025, theatrical release.
Most recently, Skarsgård showcased his talent as the lead of Rupert Sanders’ remake of the beloved cult classic, THE CROW, alongside FKA Twigs for Lionsgate, as well as BOY KILLS WORLD, a distinctive fantasy film inspired by graphic novels, helmed by director Moritz Mohr.

In 2017, Skarsgård gained widespread recognition for his chilling portrayal as the iconic and terrorizing clown “Pennywise” in the first installment of the IT film series, directed by Andy Muschietti. His eerie performance captivated audiences, earning him praise for his ability to instill terror with his portrayal. In 2019, he reprised his role in the sequel, IT: CHAPTER TWO where Skarsgård delved deeper into the complex character of “Pennywise,” showcasing his versatility as an actor. On television, he will next be seen reprising his role as “Pennywise” in WELCOME TO DERRY, Max's upcoming IT prequel series with Skarsgård also serving as an executive producer. The show is looking to release in the Fall of 2025. In 2020, Skarsgård was seen as the lead in the Swedish language series, CLARK, for Netflix. The biographical drama, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, chronicled the life of notorious Swedish gangster/bank robber Clark Olofsson, who was the originator of the term “Stockholm Syndrome.” Skarsgård received rave reviews for his portrayal of Olofsson, with critics lauding this as an “excellent performance” and his interpretation as “simply perfect”.
Previously he starred in Hulu’s CASTLE ROCK, a psychological drama series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, as well as Eli Roth’s Netflix/Gaumont hit series HEMLOCK GROVE, where he played Roman Godfrey, the teenage heir to the Godfrey fortune and a seemingly haughty rich kid with a deep dark secret.
